Raise your glass
I went on a little shopping spree last Friday and went crazy on buying some baking equipment (but that's another blog entry!) because I wanted to make cupcakes. Plan for the weekend was to keep it low key and have a nice home cooked dinner. Nek minnit. . .
I never win anything ever so I was stoked when I won tickets to State of Mind plus a $50 bar tab! Got ready to go out and had nothing to wear. Luckily I found this vintage Mickey Mouse shirt lying around and knew I just had to wear it. Also wore my leather pleated skirt that I got for such a cheap price a few weeks ago. I tried it on as a joke because it looked like a "hooker" skirt but imagine my surprise when I fell in love with it. I think the floral headpiece puts the whole outfit together and keeps it from looking too sloppy!
I don't remember much from that night (First time to ever get that wasted!) but based from stories, I did a lot of raising my arms, talking, and even fell off a car when I got home. Oh god.

Wise decisions.
So off we went on our little adventure. A wise man told me to go and be free (Hi Dan!), and so I did. I treated myself to a nice lunch at O'Carolls Freehouse where I had the best onion rings ever plus yummy ribs then walked across to Casette for some Affogato for dessert. Vulcan Lane is where it's at in Auckland, me thinks!
Spent the day going places, eating, shopping, and just chilling. We might've gotten lost on our way home but that's just part of the adventure! Perhaps the best part of the trip though was walking along the streets of the city aimlessly, wandering through street after street with no direction. We literally went wherever our feet dragged us too! Also another highlight was when the bouncer at Britomart 1885 professed his undying love for me. I believe the exact words were "Bye! I love you". I fought the urge to run back and break down and cry and ask for his hand in marriage.
I feel like I've left all my drama and baggage in Auckland and that I've got my game back on! I'm Jess, 20 years old, and ready to face the world!

20 good reasons
My big 2-0 last Thursday. 2 decades old. Wow. I didn't really have any plans except to go out to dinner with the fambam. I think my teenage years was spent making plans and following all the rules, and by now, I've learned that things never go according to plan. I didn't make any plans because I didn't want to be disappointed. I thought, wherever life takes me tomorrow, then bring it!
Only plan was to have fun and party hard. We had drinks at the flat, and then it was off to town! It was so nice to see familiar faces show up. Also had a super cute birthday card from Steph and got to blow my cupcakes too! Shout out goes to her and Lex for being such amazing good kids!
Bought a whole jug of cocktails and had some fun times at the VIP room. The ever amazing Shannon Rolfe from Snap Star was there to capture the moment.
All in all, it was a really good birthday! Part 2 happened last night. . . and that in itself is another blog entry! To be continued. . .

Say goodnight and go.
Assignments done and handed in. Room is relatively clean. Warm showers. The luxurious feeling of slathering on lotion after (I forget to put lotion on everyday. Don't judge me). Wearing my favourite leopard nightie. Latest issue of Frankie. Sinful cup of hot chocolate. Fast internet. Blog hopping. Crisp white sheets. Snuggling in my cozy duvet. Sleeping early. A random fringe cut I have yet to decide whether I like or not. And now an updated blog.
Welcome to the good life.

Much ado about nothing
I came home to an empty house after a long day of work. My mates were all up in Auckland to party hard. I was tired and hungry and home alone on a Saturday night with no plans whatsoever. Just as I was about accept the fact that I will be spending the night listening to Adele and reading a sad novel (not that there's anything wrong with that. To be honest, I was kind of looking forward to it), I got a text from Jassher (who visited me at work in the afternoon too! yay) asking if I was keen for some Momotea! I think I replied too late because he sent another text saying that he kind of wanted to go now. So I was just like. . . what. where. huh. Confuuused! Haha. Long story short, he wanted to go to a gig happening that night and keen as to get some momo. So off we went to Momotea to get our Mashed Melon Milkshake fix. Just as we were about to head off to Flow, Jash realised he left his car lights on. FAIL. Somehow, we managed to make it to the gig thanks to the nice lady who helped us out.
I am blown away by how amazing Flow really is. So many good nights and memories from Flow, but this night was just too epic! I had a good rage for 3 hours straight and had the time of my life! Funny because Jash and I were actually talking about the weekend a few days ago and he said he was doing nothing. So I casually suggested that we go to Flow for this gig and he goes all like, "Like I said, I'm doing nothing this weekend" Lol. HAHAHA. Ended the night at Mcdonalds. Chicken McCheese is just gold after a good night out.
So much for doing nothing.
P.S.
I had my "dubstep face" on and you can totally tell in photos. It's hard to explain how it looks like but it's fun and crack up at the same time!

A secret garden
Wednesday was spent with Steph doing her photography assignment. I think they turned out quite good. It was a beautiful day and I can definitely sense that Spring is just around the corner. Yay! Cannot wait.
Outfit was something really simple. A white lace shirt, singlet, and a simple black skirt! The booties are the ones I got ages ago and never really wear but I think I'm falling in love with it again!

Painted faces fill the places I can't see
Monday class with these cool kids. These are just some of my attempts at photography! As you can see, I am most interested in people and their reactions. I am also drawn to the quirky, out of focus ones rather than the "perfect" photos.
I've been home for the last 2 days because my little brother has an eye infection. Both parents have work, and other brother is not old enough to take care of him plus he has school so the only option was me. Not that I'm complaining. It's tough but I'd rather be there in case something goes wrong (He has an eye infection. Not ideal!) and what not. The things I do for my family. . .
On the plus side, I got paid today so I am off to have lunch with my little brother and maybe treat him to some dessert after. I will hopefully be seeing my best friend tonight too! Yay!
