Say goodnight and go.
Assignments done and handed in. Room is relatively clean. Warm showers. The luxurious feeling of slathering on lotion after (I forget to put lotion on everyday. Don't judge me). Wearing my favourite leopard nightie. Latest issue of Frankie. Sinful cup of hot chocolate. Fast internet. Blog hopping. Crisp white sheets. Snuggling in my cozy duvet. Sleeping early. A random fringe cut I have yet to decide whether I like or not. And now an updated blog.
Welcome to the good life.

Much ado about nothing
I came home to an empty house after a long day of work. My mates were all up in Auckland to party hard. I was tired and hungry and home alone on a Saturday night with no plans whatsoever. Just as I was about accept the fact that I will be spending the night listening to Adele and reading a sad novel (not that there's anything wrong with that. To be honest, I was kind of looking forward to it), I got a text from Jassher (who visited me at work in the afternoon too! yay) asking if I was keen for some Momotea! I think I replied too late because he sent another text saying that he kind of wanted to go now. So I was just like. . . what. where. huh. Confuuused! Haha. Long story short, he wanted to go to a gig happening that night and keen as to get some momo. So off we went to Momotea to get our Mashed Melon Milkshake fix. Just as we were about to head off to Flow, Jash realised he left his car lights on. FAIL. Somehow, we managed to make it to the gig thanks to the nice lady who helped us out.
I am blown away by how amazing Flow really is. So many good nights and memories from Flow, but this night was just too epic! I had a good rage for 3 hours straight and had the time of my life! Funny because Jash and I were actually talking about the weekend a few days ago and he said he was doing nothing. So I casually suggested that we go to Flow for this gig and he goes all like, "Like I said, I'm doing nothing this weekend" Lol. HAHAHA. Ended the night at Mcdonalds. Chicken McCheese is just gold after a good night out.
So much for doing nothing.
P.S.
I had my "dubstep face" on and you can totally tell in photos. It's hard to explain how it looks like but it's fun and crack up at the same time!

A secret garden
Wednesday was spent with Steph doing her photography assignment. I think they turned out quite good. It was a beautiful day and I can definitely sense that Spring is just around the corner. Yay! Cannot wait.
Outfit was something really simple. A white lace shirt, singlet, and a simple black skirt! The booties are the ones I got ages ago and never really wear but I think I'm falling in love with it again!

Painted faces fill the places I can't see
Monday class with these cool kids. These are just some of my attempts at photography! As you can see, I am most interested in people and their reactions. I am also drawn to the quirky, out of focus ones rather than the "perfect" photos.
I've been home for the last 2 days because my little brother has an eye infection. Both parents have work, and other brother is not old enough to take care of him plus he has school so the only option was me. Not that I'm complaining. It's tough but I'd rather be there in case something goes wrong (He has an eye infection. Not ideal!) and what not. The things I do for my family. . .
On the plus side, I got paid today so I am off to have lunch with my little brother and maybe treat him to some dessert after. I will hopefully be seeing my best friend tonight too! Yay!

Like an indian summer in the middle of winter.
We used to live for Saturday nights. I remember last Summer when we would be out partying and clubbing every single weekend. Most of the times, we would even do three nights in a row - Thursday, Friday, Saturday. And still, we managed to show up at work, do 12 hour shifts, and do our jobs exceptionally well. Lately though, with so much happening, I find that I can only do a maximum of 2 nights per weekend. Am I just getting old? Maybe, maybe not. I miss the carefree days of last summer and cannot wait for this years summer!
Also, outfit is something totally random, I know. I haven't bought anything in what feels like ages. Well, considering I work in a mall and I am there a few times a week, not buying anything within a week just feels odd so that's a long time for me. It was already around past nine pm and I didn't have an outfit yet. All I knew is that I wanted to wear pants because it was too cold outside (I hate you, Winter). What better way to warm my legs than to wear velvet! Leopard singlet is actually a nightie. As in lingerie. Threw on the sheer maroon top for extra warmth (As warm as a sheer top can ever provide) plus my trusty black wedges and I was good to go.
Wearing lingerie out = instant crashing in bed after a hard night of partying because you're already in sleep wear! Win!

Will you be my forever fling?
I just realised I haven't really properly introduced myself yet. These things are always a bit awkward to write so here it goes. . . I've been blogging since I was about 14 but I've never really stuck to one blog address. I'd always think of a nice name and then move on to the next big idea. I probably have enough blogs to last me a lifetime, along with useless email addresses to boot. If there was a cyberspace police, I would've probably been banned from creating a new blog by now.
But alas, I thought of forever fling. And somehow, it made sense. I had a feeling that I would stick to this one and true enough, 7 months later, here I am. I may write my thoughts on Tumblr, or post on myother blog, but I know I'll always have this. I guess this is what Forever Fling is to me - coming home.
A fling is defined as a brief romantic affair, while forever is defined as something permanent or without limits.
I guess you could say I'm a contradiction.
So hello, world! My name is Jess, a 19 year old small town girl from New Zealand. I'm currently in my second year through my degree and I'm majoring in PR and Advertising. I am also living the dream by working in retail. Working in a clothing store has always been the ideal job for me as I love fashion and cannot think of anything better than to get paid to look good and to always have the latest pieces.
If not studying or working, I enjoy partying. Hard. I love the whole party scene in my little town, and I enjoy raging it up on the dancefloor with good music and my favourite djs. I live for those epic nights that make me feel so alive. Of course, being the contradiction that I am, I enjoy hiding in little cafes enjoying superb food and excellent coffee while reading a book as much as I enjoy partying.
I live for blogs, photography, fashion, all things vintage, writing, cupcakes, second hand books, crazy nights with the cool kids, floral prints, coffee, red lipstick, dubstep, op shops, music, and tea cups. I'm really close to my family and I have a solid group of friends. My best friend is called Steph (She is honestly the bestest bitch one could ever have) and we also have a joint blog called withthecoolkids.
I'm just a girl who is living the good life and chasing after her dreams. And, really, I wouldn't have it any other way. So here's to what lies ahead. Here's to many more blog posts. Here's to the most fucking epic journey I've ever embarked on. Here's to infinity and beyond! x

New Zealand's Next Top Poser
I was doing my usual blog surfing on a lazy Sunday afternoon when I happen to come across this contest that The Men's Department School of Modelling was running. As a joke, I mentioned it to Jassher and told him he should join. To my surprise, he was keen and thinking we had nothing to lose, we decided to join! We had three days to send an entry and because our schedules clash, we ended up doing this shoot on a Monday morning (And no, despite my best efforts and guilt tripping, he stood firm on not driving me to work.lol).
I'm no photographer but I did try. Probably not the best idea, but we had no concept whatsoever. We even drove around to find he perfect location for the shoot. We were just mucking around really (Or maybe that's just me) and just did some crazy poses and took photos. The best part for me was coming up with different captions for the photos! We were literally at Starbucks for two hours the night before the contest closed looking at photos, picking the best ones, and making up captions. There was a lot of swapping seats and swapping laptops, some dubstep tunes on the background, and trying to come up with a nice email to match our entry.
For an impromptu thing, I'm proud that we won 2nd place! And Jash scored a pair of chinos from Topman too. What a good bitch. Here's what The Men's Department had to say about our "Boy in a box" photo:
"Was it a pose of defeat or a pose of glory? Was Creed playing in the background? This pose was deep and thought provoking. Well done!
The runner up for New Zealand's Next Top Poser is... "Boy in a box"!!You have scored yourself a pair of Topman Chinos! Congratulations!!"
Yay! Not that bad, aye? Not that bad at all.
