New Zealand's Next Top Poser

I was doing my usual blog surfing on a lazy Sunday afternoon when I happen to come across this contest that The Men's Department School of Modelling was running. As a joke, I mentioned it to Jassher and told him he should join. To my surprise, he was keen and thinking we had nothing to lose, we decided to join! We had three days to send an entry and because our schedules clash, we ended up doing this shoot on a Monday morning (And no, despite my best efforts and guilt tripping, he stood firm on not driving me to work.lol).

I'm no photographer but I did try. Probably not the best idea, but we had no concept whatsoever. We even drove around to find he perfect location for the shoot. We were just mucking around really (Or maybe that's just me) and just did some crazy poses and took photos. The best part for me was coming up with different captions for the photos! We were literally at Starbucks for two hours the night before the contest closed looking at photos, picking the best ones, and making up captions. There was a lot of swapping seats and swapping laptops, some dubstep tunes on the background, and trying to come up with a nice email to match our entry.

For an impromptu thing, I'm proud that we won 2nd place! And Jash scored a pair of chinos from Topman too. What a good bitch. Here's what The Men's Department had to say about our "Boy in a box" photo:

"Was it a pose of defeat or a pose of glory? Was Creed playing in the background? This pose was deep and thought provoking. Well done!

The runner up for New Zealand's Next Top Poser is... "Boy in a box"!!
You have scored yourself a pair of Topman Chinos! Congratulations!!"

Yay! Not that bad, aye? Not that bad at all.

Mish mash

Woohoo! Sorry for the photo bomb, but I found these photos that I have yet to put up and so I've decided to just post tidbits of my life lately in one entry. As you can see, I have been a busy bee lately. I was on holidays from class but I've pretty much worked my entire holiday away.

Mish mash of photos are from watching Computers Want Me Dead live, Scratch 22 album launch, Desserts at Iguana slash me playing paparazzi with Jash, Pinch & a Punch, Auckland Art & Craft fair, Hanging with my blogging idol Amanda and socialite/photographer extraordinaire David Grr (who btw, took the 9th photo in this post), Movie and cupcake making date with Steph and David, New loot from Rox's VIP night, and bow necklaces by Kim from Kute Kiwi.

Whew. I think it's time for me to blog some more. Yes, I think so too.

Hat The!

MANATEE presents: Hat The was an epic night. I've been to two manatee parties now and boy do they just keep getting better and better. Hats off (pun intended) to Will, Sam, and Scott also known as Djs Willapede, Staylo, and Piece respectively for organising such an epic event.

I haven't fully recovered from Soundscape yet, but there I was, tearing up the dance floor. What a good night indeed.

As usual, photos are from the beautiful Miss Shannon Rolfe from Snap Star!

Let's do it tonight

"For all we know, we might not get tomorrow, let's do it tonight."

Saturday night was one of the best night's I've had in a long time. I actually did not plan on going, but Lucie has a way of convincing me to go out! We were such a random group with Lucie, Jassher, and me out and about. It was a last minute thing too so I threw on this "Earth Hour" shirt over a little slip dress and had a hat on! The hat didn't make it out though.

I had a "The Perks of being a Wallflower" moment that night. It was just a little after 12 and my get happy song "Give Me Everything" by Pitbull ft Nayer, Afrojack, and Neyo started playing. Lucie was driving on the fast lane and the three of us were singing at the top of our lungs! And in that moment, I swear we were infinite.

Started the night with Dirty Electric. One of my favourite parts of the night was when Dj Daniel Farley played "Young Blood" by The Naked and Famous and turned it into an epic mix! Raged it up and went around to see which clubs were pumping. 101 was really good, and when "Party Rock" started playing, I went crazy! I was raging it up with Jash and when "Give Me Everything" immediately came after "Party Rock", shit went down. I vaguely remember telling Jash how it was my song and how happy I was over and over again. Lol. I also remember seeing the lovely Alice and dancing with her too!

Ended the night at Agenda with Dj Bones playing and meeting up with Lucie after. Overall it was a good night and even though I looked completely trashed (I'm talking about the photo of me and Jash especially!), I don't really care as I was too busy enjoying myself that night. Not going to lie, thank you to my friends who left that Chardon in my house from Thursday night. I think I owe my good night to you guys.

Forever Fling

I've been wanting to make a header for this blog since I first started it, but never really gotten around to do it. Finally made one now! Hah. Considering I can't photoshop or edit or whatever, I'm quite happy with this!

P.S.

Vintage dress was a hand me down from my Auntie. She made it herself and it's my favourite ever! <3

Thursday night with my mates! It was an average night out on the town and eating Subway after was disappointing. The thing I liked the most that night was my outfit. And maybe hanging with my friends. Hah. Kidding.

I slept in that day and woke up with a text from David about the massive work room sale at The White Room. I got really excited until I realised I don't get paid until next week so I came up with a budget. I wanted to get this knitted cardi but it was over my budget (I was really tempted to get it) and for the first time ever, I practiced self-control and didn't get it. Got this beautiful red velvet material instead that I'm going to turn into something beautiful for me to wear. Lol jk, I can't sew for shit so Steph is actually making it into a pretty garment. What a good bitch.

Behind these Hazel Hayes. . .

I love days off! I've been working since Monday last week and today, I finally got a day off! It felt so good to sleep late, sleep in, and wake up feeling very refreshed! One of my favourite feelings in life is to wake up and realise that you absolutely have nothing to do for the day and you can spend it as you please.

Finally got around to checking out Hazel Hayes  with Steph today! I've been there before with David (If the cups look familiar to you, you've probably seen it here), but Steph and I have always wanted to check it out but never gotten around to until today! Had a cappuccino and the slow roasted pork belly for lunch. Soooo good. I think I found my new favourite place to hide in <3

What a good day. Last night, we had dinner and then went to catch a late night movie. Unfortunately, Bridesmaids sold out and so we watched Bad Teacher instead. The movie was alright, I guess. Still, I've been dying to see Bridesmaids! Next time I'm booking tickets in advance!

xx

P.S.

I've never stuck to a blog address before. I swear I have HEAPS of blogs that I abandon after like, 2 posts, but from the start, I knew I'd be sticking to this. A forever fling indeed.

P.P.S.

Entry title is somewhat an allusion to that Kelly Clarkson song. Hahaha. See what I did there?
